EXILED Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) founder Jose Maria “Joma” Sison on Thursday slammed Malacanang for calling his organization a “failure,” citing its “great achievements” in the past years, which included overthrowing the governments of former presidents Ferdinand Marcos in 1986 and Joseph Estrada in 2001.

“How can the CPP be a failure in growing big and strong from being small and weak in 1968 and in building the New People’s Army (NPA), the revolutionary mass movement and the people’s democratic government?” Sison told The Manila Times in an online message.
