Defending champion San Miguel Beer expects a better Magnolia squad when the Season 44 Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Philippine Cup best-of-seven championship series begins on May 1.
Compared to their last meeting where the Beermen outlasted the Hotshots in five games to win the Philippine Cup crown last season, San Miguel Beer coach Leo Austria believes that Magnolia has matured a lot since last season.
