SENATE President Vicente C. Sotto 3rd proposed a simple solution to the allegations of “pork" insertions in the 2019 budget bill, whether by lawmakers or by the executive branch -- scrap them.

“We will just scrap it. If it’s needed, then we will put funding, if not, then we will cut,” Sotto said on Tuesday after Senator Panfilo M. Lacson called on fellow lawmakers to continue scrutinizing the proposed amendments to spending to stop the new practice of “parking pork" in the budget.
