A party-list group urged overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who are returning to the country to pursue their studies anew through educational programs provided by the government, noting that the P3.9 billion fund allocated this year for free education would enable them to study tuition-free in technical-vocational institutions.

In a statement, ACTS-OFW party-list Rep. Aniceto Bertiz 3rd said, “Congress has set aside P3.9 billion this year so that Filipinos, including OFWs, who are not college graduates may freely enroll in state-run or accredited private TVET (technical-vocational education and training) schools without having to pay for any tuition or miscellaneous fees.”
