Swimmer Ernie Gawilan won his third gold medal on top of two silvers on Friday in the 2018 Asian Para Games in Jakarta, Indonesia.

“I was surprised by my performance and I want to thank my coach Ral Rosario. I was motivated by my grandmother and grandfather who initially took care of me though they were no longer with us. I was eventually raised by nuns and it was in Samal Island where I learned how to swim,” Gawilan said.
