THE number of Filipino families considering themselves poor slightly rose in the third quarter of the year, according to the latest Social Weather Stations survey that also shows rising poverty perception in Balance Luzon and Mindanao.

The poll from September 15 to September 23 among 1,500 adults nationwide found the rank of self-rated poor families edging up four points in the June to September period to 52 percent, equivalent to 12. 2 million families from the preceding quarter’s 48 percent (equivalent to 11.1 million families).
