August 9, 2018: Agents from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), led by Director General Aaron Aquino, discover four magnetic lifters containing P6.8 billion of illegal methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu at a warehouse in General Mariano Alvarez (GMA), Cavite. The shipment allegedly came from Malaysia.
August 13, 2018: Led by Surigao del Norte Rep. Robert Barbers, the House of Representatives announces an investigation into the shipment.
