A “tired” Rep. Rolando Andaya Jr., chairman of the House of Representatives’ appropriations committee, will no longer pursue a contempt charge against Budget Secretary Benjamin Diokno who has repeatedly snubbed his panel’s hearings on the 2019 budget mess.

Wag na [ng arestuhin]. Baka maawa pa kayo eh. Papatawag na lang ni Cong [Danilo] Suarez sa sunod na hearing. Ikaw naman makatikim ng inii-snub. Pagod na kong i-snubin (We won’t have him arrested anymore. You might even have pity on him. Maybe Congressman Suarez can just invite him again in the next hearing, this time you know what it feels like to be snubbed. I’m tired of being snubbed),” Andaya told reporters in a briefing, with Suarez sitting beside him.
