After sweeping the preliminary round, the real battle for Batang Gilas begins in the quarterfinals of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) Under-18 Asian Championship starting today at the Nonthaburi Stadium in Nonthaburi, Thailand.
Batang Gilas routed Lebanon (75-53), United Arab Emirates (92-49) and China (73-63) on Tuesday behind the prowess of the 6’10 Filipino-Nigerian AJ Edu and the 7’1 Kai Sotto. Batang Gilas’ unblemished 3-0 finish in Group B earned the team an outright quarterfinal berth.
