Watchdog, solons gang up on towercos duopoly

The country’s competition watchdog and a number of lawmakers from both the lower and upper chambers have objected to draft rule limiting the tower construction business to only two companies.

The Philippine Competition Commission (PCC) said on Tuesday that while it lauded the current administration’s effort to promote common tower sharing, it was alarmed over the proposed rule of allowing only two tower companies (towercos) to operate in the industry.
