GENEVA: The global fight against malaria has stalled and deaths increased instead of going down in the last three years, thus requiring massive investment from countries with high cases, the United Nations health agency, World Health Organization (WHO), warned in a report published Friday.

“The world is at a crossroads. Historical progress that has been achieved over the last decade is clearly slowing down,” Pedro Alonso, director of the World Health Organization’s malaria program, told a news conference in Geneva.
