Zambales townsfolk oppose naval reserve

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales: A plan by the Department of National Defense to convert 30,000 hectares of land of this municipality into a proposed naval reservation met strong opposition here, with the mayor saying this would result into the town becoming not only the smallest in the province but also in the entire Philippines.

Mayor Estela Deloso Antipolo, in a statement, said the plan would not only reduce the present land area of San Antonio to 30 percent but also affect the town’s tourism industry.
