To demonstrate the power of play, Chevrolet and One World Play Project made a special delivery of 500 ultra-durable One World Futbols to six disadvantaged schools in isolated parts of Cebu last week. Chevrolet also provided new Colorado pick-ups and Trailblazer SUVs capable of tackling the sometimes harsh and challenging road conditions to assist with the delivery.
The donation of the footballs in partnership with Chevrolet’s distributor in the Philippines, The Covenant Car Company Inc. (TCCCI), will enable over 5,000 children to learn how possibilities can turn into reality through play.
In addition to delivering footballs, media and Chevrolet dealers from the Philippines and across Southeast Asia lent their time to a special program in Danasan. They helped refurbish the roofs and repair the waterworks at Nicolas Tiongko High School and Lawaan High School and Elementary School. The schools were severely damaged by Typhoon Yolanda (international name Haiyan) in November 2013.
Participants drove materials such as steel plates and roofing tiles to the schools, which have been deprived of proper infrastructure such as fans, computers and clean running water. This effort will help create a more conducive and hygienic environment for students to learn and play.

Since October 2012, Chevrolet and One World Play Project have donated more than 1.6 million ultra-durable One World Futbols, bringing play to an estimated 48 million youth in more than 90 countries in war-stricken zones, refugee camps, disaster areas and other underprivileged communities.
