“We are now opening the bidding process for the procurement of 743 submachine guns and 43 units of Single Side Banf (SSB) radios,” Cerbo told reporters.

The PNP spokesman said they are now inviting bidders for the project that aims to enhance the firepower and communication capability of police ground units.

Cerbo said the bid documents may be downloaded from the website of the Philippine Government Electronic Procurement System (Philgeps) and the PNP website at www.pnp.gov.ph .

The vice-chairman of the PNP Bids and Awards Committee, Director Juanito Vano, said a pre-bid conference will be held at the PNP main conference room on March 17, 2015.
